Thematic Axes:
1) Contributions of community museological initiatives for resizing the preservation of cultural heritage, its scope and its meaning.
Which perspectives can be released to the cultural heritage when we appropriate it through museums community-based initiatives? Are these promising prospects with regard to the contributions of such initiatives to expand the scope of potential and to understand the multiple meanings of this heritage? How the ecomuseums, community museums, among other museological actions driven by the participation of the communities involved, dialogue with the ideas of culture; local development; heritage education; participatory inventory; creative economy; among others? What do the initiatives that we treat comprises as the museum's social function and liberating museology? How and with what resources the community mobilization can contribute to local development and make possible sustainability alternatives of cultural heritage? Reflect on these and other cross-cutting issues is the purpose of this thematic area.
2) Experiences, challenges, management and sustainability strategies of community initiatives museum.
Considering the amount and the diversity of experiences and processes involved in creation and management of the community museum exercise in Brazil and in the world, often without any specialized technical and financial support, this thematic area aims to map the common faced challenges by museological initiatives of communities as well as the strategies implemented and/or planned which constitute a proprietary method of working with memory and heritage seeking the local social development with possibilities of translations to specific realities. In this sense, we encourage the authors to diagnose the challenges of community integration; educational and political articulations; creation of tools and networks of social memory; among others faced by museum projects self-managed by communities. Also, we propose to check and analyze the contributions of some working methods, as action research; oral history; participatory inventory and heritage education.
3) Ways of community museological initiatives: methodological propositions for the wellbeing.
Think of ways of community museum experiences: would these be methodological proposals for the wellbeing? In this communication, the participants should reflect on the politicization of community museology in search of wellbeing. Are there clear and true paths of dialogue and hybrid knowledge (between academia, NGOs and grassroots groups) in community museum experience? How are established the links between the different forms of knowledge, power and making between the subjects involved in these experiences? To whom has those experiences attended? Which returns these experiences have promoted for the social groups involved? Have these experiences sought the happiness of communities in non-objectified principles and non-consumerist or just the inclusion of communities in a production circuit and capitalist consumption? Is there a political articulation between the different experiences towards an intercultural internationalization?
